Amprolium hydrochloride is an acidic white powder. Amprolium can competitively inhibit the uptake of thiamine by coccidia, thereby inhibiting the development of coccidia. It is mainly used for the control of chicken coccidia, but it is banned in laying hens and can also be used in mink, cattle, and sheep.
